Born in England, Ben Whishaw graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in Spring 2003.

Ben has appeared on stage in London's West End at the National Theatre in His Dark Materials and The Seagull, as well as garnering rave reviews in the title role of Trevor Nunn's version of Hamlet at the Old Vic.

Back on the big screen he starred in the musical drama I'm Not There (2007) alongside Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett. His career has continued to skyrocket. Other film credits include the star-packed sci-fi drama Cloud Atlas (2012) as well as playing Q alongside Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem in the mega blockbuster Skyfall (2012), which was the 23rd installment in the iconic James Bond film franchise. He reprised his role in the 24th installment of the Bond franchise in Spectre (2015).

More recently, he played a supporting role in the Golden Globe-nominated motion picture The Danish Girl (2015) alongside Eddie Redmayne, played famed novelist Herman Melville in In the Heart of the Sea (2015) and a supporting role in A Hologram for the King (2016), opposite Tom Hanks.
