ETHAN EMBRY

Date of Birth: June 13, 1978

He was born Ethan Randall but changed his name to be closer with his grandfather. Embry began acting at 10 and later made his film debut as Doyle in Dutch. He soon went on to do All I Want for Christmas in which he tries to reunite his parents for the holidays. Ethan has also appeared in Evolver, A Far Off Place, Empire Records and finally, White Squall, which gave him the attention he deserved. Then came That Thing You Do! a film written and directed by Tom Hanks. Embry has also been seen in Vegas Vacation, trying to turn a bad script into an acting opportunity.

In Sweet Home Alabama, starring Reese Witherspoon, he played closet homosexual Bobby Ray. In 2003, he took on the regular role of Detective Frank Smith in the updated version of the classic police drama series Dragnet, for the ABC TV network, but continues to work in feature films such as the big budget box office bomb Timeline (2003), Standing Still (2007) with Amy Adams and Heart of a Dragon (2010), about Rick Hansen's visit to China.

Ethan likes alternative music and frequents concerts. He is ambidextrous and plays guitar with his left hand but writes with his right. He lives in New York City with numerous cats and dogs. He married actress Amelinda Smith in 1998, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2002. They have a son, Cogeian.
