Thomas Brodie-Sangster

Date of Birth: May 16, 1990

Thomas Brodie-Sangster was born and raised in London, England. From an early age, the young actor had cinematography genes in his blood, as his mother, Tasha Bertram, is an actress and his father, Mark Sangster, is a musician and film editor. Thomas began landing television roles as early as 11 years old. After a series of short films and mini-series, Thomas caught his big break in 2001 when he landed the role of a young, hopeless romantic in Richard Curtis’ Love Actually. For this role, Thomas was nominated for a Golden Satellite Award and a Young Artist Award.

Having captured the hearts of millions, Thomas went on to star in a blend of films and television series; most notably: Nanny McPhee (2005), Tristan + Isolde (2006), Bright Star (2009) and Nowhere Boy (2010).

Although Thomas maintained his boyish looks and charm, he challenged himself by taking on the role of Jojen Reed in 2013 on the hit HBO Television series Game of Thrones. Though the gig lasted only a year, Thomas was able to prove his versatility to audiences.

Thomas' latest film, The Maze Runner (2014), debuted at the top of the box office. The action packed sci-fi thriller is based on the bestselling book by James Dashner. The film revolves around a group of boys whose memories have been erased. Desperate for answers, they navigate through a maze in hopes of escaping their present situation and discovering their past. The Maze Runner is the first of a sci-fi trilogy that has The Scorch Trials and The Death Cure as sequels. ~Nadira Chand
